It has been a disturbing week. For various reasons.
First off, I've been having surreal dreams. Do you remember when you were 6 or 7 and read Enid Blyton books, even when the stories sounded the same? Do you remember the series called the Faraway Tree?
I've been having dreams about that. The dreams plays in full colour, but with loads of scratches. Somehow, i get pushed into this rubbish chute, you know the one that every HDB flat has,and end up in front of this yellow school bus. It brings me to the tree, and i climb. I meet all the nice people from the book, the Saucepan man,Moonface,Silky. We sit around and they all stare seriously at me. I probably wake up.
What does a bunch of book characters want with me? More importantly, why them?
If it wasn't a recurring dream (Thursday, Friday,Saturday), i wouldn't have given it much thought.
I have also suffered bouts of inadequacy, what with a 7 year old taking O level chemistry and passing and another math guy who got his PhD at 20, its no wonder everyone's been down. Hmph.
On the other hand, I found out something rather interesting. It seems that japan is developing some high end technology with liquid metal. The theory is that this type of metal will be paper thin and will be able to receive signals or Internet transmissions.
So imagine this.
You buy this liquid metal technology, news will no longer be printed on paper. Instead, the news will be transmitted on to your piece of liquid metal, enabling you to read it like a normal newspaper. The next day, the newspaper will again be transmitted on to your liquid metal.
How's that for saving the enviroment. I was shocked to discover that newspaper was NOT printed on recycled paper 2 years ago. The nerve.I will try and get the article on liquid metal.
The future is proving to be facinating.
